Welcome to The Trial & Error Blog
If you’re anything like me, you know what it feels like, smells like, even tastes like when you walk into a library, bookstore, or record store. There’s that homey warmth and a distinct feeling of hope as you look around at all that is possible. You’re just dying to disappear into a new world, a captivating story, and take a look at the world through someone else’s eyes.
For me, there is nothing like cracking open a stiff spine on a brand new book or tearing the cellophane off a new CD. What’s inside? Will I like it? Will it change me? Who can I share it with?
Hey there! I’m Emily Faithe
I am a writer, musician, and teacher. I have spent the past 12 years teaching private music lessons to budding musicians and the past two as choir director and general music teacher to middle school and high school students.
My one and only goal is to move the hearts of others and teach them, in turn, how to move the hearts of even more.
I’ve never met a person over the age of 12 that didn’t like music. It is a deeply personal and intimate expression that so many love, but are either not ready to share themselves or simply don’t know where to start. I would love to show you how.
The Trial & Error Blog is full of step-by-step guides, tools for growth, reviews of the greats, exercises, practice projects, challenges, support, encouragement, and motivation – all to help you become a better musician, artist, or writer.
Even if this is a brand new adventure in your life, diving into these disciplines can teach you so much about yourself. You can learn to say and express things you’ve been holding in. You can begin to create things that will be a true reflection of who you are.
Personally, music has been a saving grace in my life.
My Book: “Music Saved My Life”
In March of 2015 I was laid off from my job and I jumped headlong into the entrepreneurial sphere. Thus, the T&E Blog was born.
In the months following my lay off, I wrote a book… (that still sounds unbelievable). It was a dream of mine for most of my life and I just decided one day to do it. I learned a fantastic method of brainstorming, started throwing thoughts and feelings into a word processor, and two months later I was holding “Music Saved My Life”.
I uncovered so much about myself through the process of writing it, yet I was still surprised that my readers had the same experience!
Clicking on the button below will take you to the Amazon page for “Music Saved My Life”.
The T&E Vlog
I also ventured into the world of video this year and started a vlog. It features mostly music-related content, but there’s some other awesome stuff in there and I’m adding to it all the time. Catch it from the beginning right here:
